One of my favorite coffee shops in Austin, other than Starbucks, is the Monkey Nest Cafe. This coffee shop is less than a 10 minute walk from my apartment, which I'm pretty grateful for. It's a really cool place and I love the monkey theme inspired drinks that are available such as The Spicy Monkey Mocha, or a mocha with cayenne pepper and cinnamon or the Four Ton Gorilla, or 4 shots of espresso. This coffee shop is pretty great because their food is DELICIOUS; I had their Monkey Nest Special, which include a chicken sandwich with lots of flavors and a side of chips and salsa with a pickle. They have everything from breakfast burritos (their chorizo breakfast burrito that's on my list to definitely try) to salads and sandwiches all made in house. It's definitely worth the visit! The price of the menu items are fairly average with a soy chai, example, approximately $4 to $5, which is a typically price for a soy chai.

Most importantly, the baristas in the shop are pretty nice and talkative to all of their customers. A "cultural shock" for me is that the WIFI in the shop does not require a WIFI password, so you can come by to the Monkey Nest just to get out of the house to do work, you don't have worry if you have to buy something to get the password. A really dope aspect of this coffee shop is that it's 24 hours and you definitely might catch me in here at the wee hours of the night trying to get last minute work done. I would definitely recommend this coffee shop to any one who wants to experience a different type of coffee shop!
